Field Value
Organisation Name Giraffe Trading CIC
Organisation Details Our primary aim is to help people with severe and complex barriers, such as learning disabilities, autism and mental ill health, to make the transition into meaningful work. This work supports the most socially and economically alienated local people make an often-fragile journey towards inclusion in our local community. We achieve this by providing relevant supported work experience, vocational skills and personal development. Crucially, we focus on often-overlooked aspects, such as confidence building, which enables our trainees to move their careers and lives forward as well as being an active and included part in our local communities. Here we do not have our trainees waiting in a training centre or kept away from working. Instead, they are placed into supported work experiences in our busy and popular businesses from day one.
Organisation Services Giraffe runs two cafes and two supply/training kitchens. Our enterprises deliver a service and produce in a professional and commercial way – we supply outside catering to many organisations such as Aviva, Perth and Kinross Council and Persimmon Homes. We also coordinate the ‘Great Perthshire Picnic’(an annual Perthshire-wide food festival), supply lunch clubs to Caledonian Housing Association and much more.
